The former Arsenal captain assumed control on December 20th, 2019 and soon guided the team to an cup win not long after. However, that initial silverware remains his sole top-tier trophy since succeeding Unai Emery.
“I can,” he stated upon being asked about staying beyond 2027. “But it’s about today. And many things need to fall into place in the next few months as well to deserve that opportunity.”

Over this half-decade, I’ve seen just players with a level of attention, hunger for knowledge and give their all to the team.”

The manager referenced the squad's displays as a sign they are nearing their goal. “You look at the performances, all the historical marks we surpassed... We still haven’t managed to do that [win trophies]. But that indicates the caliber we've reached.”
He finished by saying, “That is a level that the Premier League has not witnessed in the past. And our aim is to achieve even higher goals. And if we do that, I think we are on the proper course to winning.”
