Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.
My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
