Norris Edges Out Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the previous five grands prix.
The McLaren driver just pipped fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the quickest lap in the dying seconds of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the title advantage from Piastri by just one point after taking the win in Mexico City a fortnight back, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before sprint qualifying set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, sitting with a 36-point deficit Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team followed a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, if briefly, when he spun at corner four soon after starting.
Tsunoda lost control over the track edges before rotating through the gravel trap, and was fortunate to avoid just a slight brush of the fence.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also had a spin, at the very end of the session, turning around through the high-speed Mergulho turn leading to the last turn on to the pit straight.
The seven-time champion ended the session in 19th place, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were significantly quicker of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, 0.619 seconds off Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
