Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
