The Renowned Musician Calls On Backing to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“The song holds a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The single features a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have clarified that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a figure explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
