Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on Your Zodiac Sign

The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming firm opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.

With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is based on a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Super Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndoom was almost selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and enjoy a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Similar to a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross species, whether in its standard and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their side to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for tasty tree sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.

Gemini – Super Medicham

Look at this absolute royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an endless stream of chatter to those who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.

Cancer – Super Manectric

The Crab is commonly regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a intense sign famous for often getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also recognized for its capability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

Leo – Super Starmie

Well, did you assume I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Players were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion offers to the table. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for aliens.

Virgo – Mega Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who uses the feelers on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry even more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a performance. As a Sagittarius personally, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can think of.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure

Detached air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire typing fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting presence is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
